The Genesis GV80 has just been updated for the 2022 model year in South Korea.

The most significant change made for 2022 is the availability of a luxurious six-seater model that joins the existing five- and seven-seater variants. This model features plush new second-row seats and also has a second-row center console that mimics the look of the center console found in the first row. As such, it includes cup holders, storage boxes, and a wireless smartphone charger.

Elsewhere, the 2022 Genesis GV80 has been equipped with second-row monitors and has comfortable third-row seats. There is also a system that continues to operate the fan for 30 minutes after the SUV is turned off to dry the inside of the air conditioner and remove moisture.

Some tech changes have also been made for 2022. For example, there is a new multi-collision prevention automatic braking system that automatically brakes the vehicle to prevent a secondary accident if the driver loses control after a crash. Moreover, the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and Head-Up display now support over-the-air wireless updates which will introduce new themes and display functions.

Genesis has also equipped the 2022 GV80 with optional electric side steps and a trailer hitch. It has also added new exterior shades of Mauna Red and Barossa Burgundy as well as an urban brown/vanilla beige two-tone interior color theme. Finally, the four-piston front brake calipers of flagship 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 now come standard on 2.5-liter turbo and 3.0-liter diesel models.

Genesis hasn’t announced when the 2022 GV80 will arrive in other markets.
