Cadillac’s electric revolution will start next month as the brand will begin accepting reservations for the 2023 Lyriq on September 18th at 4 p.m. EDT.
Priced from $58,795, the electric crossover is based on the Ultium platform and will have a 100 kWh battery pack that is slated to enable the model to travel more than 300 miles (483 km) on a single charge. Cadillac went on to say the average XT5 owner only travels 40 miles (64 km) a day, so the Lyriq has more than enough range for their needs.
Speaking of range, a standard 120 volt outlet can deliver approximately 3.5 miles (5.6 km) of range for every hour of charging. That increases to 52 miles (84 km) per hour with a professionally installed 240V 19.2 kW AC / 100A dedicated charging station.

Away from home, owners can make the most of the Lyriq’s 190 kW DC fast charging capability. It can deliver approximately 76 miles (122 km) of range in as little as 10 minutes. After 30 minutes, drivers can expect up to 195 miles (314 km) of range.
While those are good specs, there’s a big caveat as the model will be rear-wheel drive only at launch. That could limit the Lyriq’s appeal, but its single electric motor produces an estimated 340 hp (255 kW / 345 PS) and 325 lb-ft (440 Nm) of torque.
Cadillac hasn’t revealed full equipment details, but the crossover will come standard with 20-inch wheels and be available with a Satin Steel Metallic or Stellar Black Metallic exterior. Other highlights include LED lighting units, digital key technology, and a massive 33-inch LED display. Customers will also be able to order the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system as well as a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system.
The Lyriq will go into production in the first quarter of 2022 and deliveries are slated for the first half of next year.
