The BAC Mono is one of the most track-focused cars on the market and is a far-cry from an ideal highway cruiser. However, if you have the commitment, you can drive the Mono on the street and that includes the Autobahn.
The BAC Mono featured in this video is a first-generation model and is powered by a 2.5-liter Mountune engine with an impressive 305 hp and 227 lb-ft (308 Nm) of torque. Of course, it has no windshield, so AutoTopNL’s tester was exposed to the elements when recently testing out the car.
During this clip, we get to see the BAC Mono sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.85 seconds, a particularly impressive time due to all the wheel spin the car had in first gear. The Mono continues to pull strongly through the gears and ultimately completed the sprint from 100 km/h to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 7.82 seconds.

Such a time is far from the fastest recorded by AutoTopNL. In fact, the fastest car it has tested from 100 km/h to 200 km/h was a twin-turbocharged Lamborghini Huracan, completing the sprint in just 3.13 seconds. A time of 7.82 seconds puts the BAC Mono up there with a 2019 Porsche 911 Carrera S, 2019 Aston Martin V8 Vantage, and the exclusive Volvo P1800 from Cyan Racing.
Had the test been of a second-generation BAC Mono, the times probably would have been even more impressive as the current Mono has a 2.3-liter turbocharged engine with 332 hp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm).
