DS is the latest brand to go fully electric as the company will only sell EVs starting in 2024.
While the automaker has been selling electrified models since 2019, this is a significant change and one that is happening quite rapidly.
The company didn’t go into many specifics, but said they will “strengthen” their lineup by offering an electric version of the DS 4. They will then “unveil a new design, launching the first 100% electric project from Stellantis based on the STLA Medium platform.”

As we have previously reported, models based on the STLA Medium platform will measure approximately 165.4 – 196.9 inches (4200 – 5000 mm) long. They’ll also come equipped with 87-104 kWh battery packs, which deliver up to 440 miles (700 km) of range.
DS didn’t release many details about the upcoming model, but said it will have “remarkable technology and refinement.” The EV also promises to have “technical features that are a perfect fit for DS Automobiles customers.”
In a statement, DS Automobiles CEO Béatrice Foucher said, “The car industry is experiencing a change whose breadth and speed are unprecedented. As a pioneer, DS Automobiles anticipated this move with electrification at the center of its strategy.” Foucher went on to say he decided to speed up the development of EVs to “create a new 100% electric art of travel, desirable in terms of enjoyment and remarkable in terms of quality and performance.” He also called going electric-only a “daring plan,” which will take shape beginning in 2024.
