Electrify America has opened its latest electric vehicle charging station outside Yosemite National Park, at the Yosemite Westgate & Buck Meadows Lodge.

One of four EV fast chargers serving the area surrounding the park, it will be available to travelers visiting Yosemite. Located just 12 miles away, Electrify America calls it the latest proof of its mission to make EV charging convenient everywhere in America.

“We know electric vehicle drivers are seeking ultra-fast charging options near national parks,” said Anthony Lambkin, senior director of operations at Electrify America. “Yosemite Westgate & Buck Meadows Lodge is known for providing a comfortable travel stop for Yosemite visitors, and we’re excited to provide their guests and all-electric vehicle drivers a convenient, fast charging option to make travel to the park more accessible.”

The charging station will feature two 150kW and two 350kW chargers and will be available to EV drivers who will be able to charge while passing through the area or if they’re staying the night at the Yosemite Westlake & Buck Meadows Lodge.

“As the last major road stop before entering Yosemite National Park, we attract guests from all over,” said Raj Patel, owner of Yosemite Westgate & Buck Meadows Lodge. “We look forward to welcoming EV drivers from near and far looking to make their next road trip to Yosemite National Park.”

The charging station joins three other Electrify America locations at the nearby towns of Oakhurst, Bridgeport, and Bishop. The station also joins solar-powered Jeep branded charging stations that Electrify America is installing in Moab, Utah, Big Bear, California, and at the Rubicon Trail in Pollock Pines, California.

Rivian, too, has been installing Level 2 chargers at 56 state parks throughout Tennessee.
