In a market where forced induction engines and hybrid powertrains are becoming commonplace, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ could be viewed as a little outdated. However, as this video proves, that fact makes it all the more desirable.
While the Aventador SVJ has been superseded by the LP780-4 Ultimae, the SVJ will always be remembered as the most insane of all Aventador variants, thanks in part to its head-turning styling and advanced aerodynamic components.
Then there’s the engine. Powering the car is a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 churning out 759 hp at 8,500 rpm and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque at 6,750 rpm. This engine is coupled to a seven-speed automatic single-clutch transmission that changes gears with more ferocity than any other transmission on the market. Lamborghini’s V12 models are famed for their incredible soundtracks and the SVJ is no different, producing a howl that can only be matched by Ferrari’s most potent V12s.

While recently putting the car through its paces, AutoTopNL were able to record a GPS-verified 0-100km/h (62 mph) time of 3.19 seconds, a 100km/h – 200 km/h (62 mph – 124 mph) time of 5.93 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 10.58 seconds, a 200 km/h – 300 km/h (124 mph – 186 mph) time of 15.71 seconds, and pushed the car to 331 km/h (205.6 mph), or 344 km/h (213.7 mph) as indicated on the speedometer.
While we will be sad to see the Aventador retire at the end of the year, Lamborghini has confirmed that its successor will also feature a naturally-aspirated V12, although it will be supplemented by an electric motor.
