Genesis has unveiled virtual racing variants of the X Concept and the G70 sports sedan in partnership with Gran Turismo.
The most striking is certainly the Genesis X GR3. The stunning coupe was unveiled in the flesh back in March and is a sleek two-door coupe previewing the design language of future electric models from the car manufacturer. In transforming it into GR3 racing guise for Gran Turismo, it has been extensively modified and now sports a unique front splitter, hood, racing wheels with turbo-fan covers, front wheel louvers, flared arches, extended side skirts, a towering rear wing, and a prominent diffuser.

Joining the Genesis X GR3 is a GR4 racing version of the existing G70 sports sedan. It has been presented in a similar shade and livery to the X GR3 and has been comprehensively modified when compared to the actual road-going model. For example, it has yellow headlights, yellow foglights, and a unique front splitter. It also sits on turbo-fan style wheels and features a large rear wing and diffuser.
These two models were available to view through VR goggles at the Genesis display during the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Also presented in the virtual world at the display was a so-called Genesis ‘VGT’ model that acts as a preview of a potential Vision Gran Turismo concept from the South Korea car manufacturer.
It remains unclear if the Genesis G70 GR4 and X GR3 will be available in Gran Turismo Sport or if gamers will have to wait until Gran Turismo 7 that will launch in 2022.
