We might be looking at a case of ‘Nissan giveth, Infiniti takeawayeth’ as a new report is suggesting the Q60 Coupe will be discontinued in 2023.
While nothing is official, Automotive News is reporting the Q60 could be living on borrowed time and might bow out in a couple of years.
If that’s the case, it would be tragic as the Q60 and its predecessor, the G Coupe, helped put the brand on the map. However, Infiniti has been increasingly focused on crossovers and electrified vehicles. It’s also worth mentioning reports suggested the automaker pulled the plug on the Q60 Project Black S earlier this year.

Only time will tell if the Q60 is on death row, but sales have slowed to a trickle as the brand only sold 2,793 units in the United States last year. While sales hit 5,043 units before the pandemic, in 2019, Infiniti has only moved 1,528 coupes through the first six months of the year. If that trend continues, they’ll finish 2021 with just 3,056 sales.
Of course, it’s worth mentioning sales of the Nissan Z have been even worse as the brand sold 1,954 units last year and 2,384 in 2019. Despite those meager results, Nissan will introduce a new Z on August 17th.
While we can’t be certain the Q60 will be riding off into the sunset, it’s possible the companies have decided one sports car is enough. If that’s the case it would be disappointing, but the new Z looks pretty great.
