Well, that didn’t take long, as images of the new Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 leaked on the web earlier today revealing the new limited production supercar in all its retrolicious glory.

From these photos that appeared on social media, it’s pretty clear that the reborn Countach is heavily based off the Sian, itself an offshoot of the Aventador, with plenty of classic-styling cues borrowed from the numerous iterations of the original Countach that have been reworked for the modern era. Does it work? We’re not entirely convinced it does, at least not without having the entire picture in our hands yet, but fell free to tell us what you think too. [Update #2].

Lamborghini has dropped a fresh trio of teasers of its upcoming Countach LPI 800-4 limited production model. They show part of the supercar’s front end that include the ‘Countach’ badge, an overview of the V12 engine bay and the retro-styled intakes behind the passenger cabin. No other information was shared by the Italians on the new Countach, but at this point, it appears we’re just counting days until its reveal. [Update #1]

The Lamborghini Countach is one of the brands most iconic models and it’s being reborn for the 21st century. Details are limited, but the company said “We make dreams come true. We did it with the classic Countach in the 1970s. And we’re doing it again.”

The message was accompanied by a teaser video, which highlights the Countach’s legacy and provides a few glimpses of the all-new model.  The automaker also released a teaser image, which shows the vehicle underneath a sheet.

Unfortunately, neither teaser is very revealing as they simply suggest the car will feature a wedge-shaped design that recalls its predecessor.  However, it’s clear the modern-day Countach will be far more aerodynamic as the model appears to have streamlined surfaces and a flowing roof.

While Lamborghini is keeping details under wraps, the automaker released additional teasers on their exclusive Unica App.  One of them reportedly revealed the car will be called the Countach LP 800-4 and this suggests the model will have all-wheel drive as well as an output of 789 hp (588 kW / 800 PS).

The Supercar Blog suggests the model will be based on the Sian FKP 37 and feature a 6.5-liter V12 engine as well as a mild-hybrid system.  That seems possible as the Sian has 808 hp (602 kW / 819 PS), which would be slightly more than the Countach LP 800-4.

Of course, we shouldn’t have to wait long to find out as the modern-day Countach is slated to be introduced at Monterey Car Week.  Production will reportedly be limited to 112 units and pricing could start around $3.5 (2.5 / €3) million.
