The GMC Hummer EV is one of the more intriguing electric vehicles to be announced and has prompted a Lego enthusiast to create their own model of the capable off-roader.

Following the instructions and building a complex Lego Technic model is hard enough on its own but user technic-AI over at Lego Ideas managed to build a fully-functional Hummer EV from the ground-up with no less than 2,400 parts and without any sort of instructions or guidance.

The model has been built at 1:10 scale and brilliantly mimics the design of the pickup truck. It includes headlights just like the real thing and has the same imposing, Stormtropper-inspired look with white body panels and a black roof structure with an open-top design. However, it is not the exterior design of the Lego Technic model that is the most impressive thing. Instead, it is the chassis underpinning it that is truly remarkable.

The Lego enthusiast has managed to create a chassis that doesn’t just drive back and forth like other Lego models but also has a fully-functional steering system. What’s more, it even features a Crab Walk feature just like the real-life GMC Hummer EV where all four wheels can be turned in the same direction.

Another really cool feature of the car is the fact that the suspension can be raised and lowered remotely thanks to a complex set of gears. The truck even features a functional cargo cover with little springs that mimic the struts you’d find on a life-size car.
