A 1974 BMW 2002 has come across our desks and while you can certainly get more performance for your money, few classic Bimmers are quite as cool as the 2002.
This particular example was acquired by the seller in 2001 and has been outfitted with the engine of a 1973 2002tii. That means it has a 2.0-liter M10 inline-four that features Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection. The engine has also been modified with a Korman K300 camshaft with dual valve springs, a Stahl exhaust header, and an aftermarket intake. Coupled to the engine is a four-speed manual transmission that sends power through the rear wheels.

The Bring A Trailer listing reveals that the seller acquired the car in 2001 and has also been outfitted with an Ireland Engineering Turbo-style front air dam, European-market turn signals, a Raid Turbo steering wheel, Recaro front seats, and a hood, trunk lid, and rear spoiler made from lightweight fiberglass. It is being sold with a factory tool kit, service records, manufacturer’s literature, and a Connecticut registration.
This 2002 originally left the factory finished in Chamonix White but was repainted in the current shade of silver under previous ownership. It also features 13-inch silver Mahle wheels with 185/70 Avon CR448 tires. Braking power is provided by front discs and rear drums while the suspension has been upgraded with Korman sway bay end links.
Found in the cabin is a Kenwood CD stereo, gray, blue, and black cloth and vinyl upholstery, and a new steering wheel. The odometer reads 43,000 miles (~69,000 km), but the car’s true mileage isn’t known.
