Production-Spec Pininfarina Battista To Debut At Pebble Beach

Automobili Pininfarina introduced the Battista over two years ago and now the company has announced plans to unveil the first production-spec model at Monterey Car Week.

Teased underneath a sheet, the first Battista will feature an exposed carbon fiber body that highlights its advanced construction and cutting-edge technologies. The dark appearance will be further enhanced by Impulso wheels with a gloss black finish.

Pininfarina didn’t release interior pictures, but said the model will be equipped with sustainable black leather as well as Iconica Blu contrast stitching. The Battista will also have Iconica Blu Alcantara seats with exposed carbon fiber accents that mimic the exterior.

Putting the styling aside, the Battista promises to be the fastest and most powerful Italian sports car ever made. It features four electric motors that are powered by a 120 kWh battery pack, which promises to deliver a range of up to 311 miles (500 km).

The range is notable by itself, but the powertrain is the stuff of dreams as it produces a combined output of 1,874 hp (1,397 kW / 1,900 PS) and 1,696 lb-ft (2,300 Nm) of torque. Those are mind-boggling numbers and they should enable the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than two seconds, while 186 mph (300 km/h) comes in less than 12 seconds. Drivers with a need for speed can keep the accelerator planted and they’ll eventually top out at 217 mph (350 km/h).

Production is limited to 150 units and pricing starts at $2.2 million. The model is currently available to order and each one will be unique as the company is offering a bespoke personalization program with virtually limitless options.

Besides introducing the first production-spec model, Pininfarina will stage the U.S. debut of the Battista Anniversario at The Quail and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. It’s a special edition that is limited to five units and features an aerodynamic carbon fiber styling package as well as 21-inch center-locking wheels, among other things.

Customers will also be able to “experience the interior and exterior soundscapes of the pure-electric model for the first time.” Details are limited, but Pininfarina said the Battista has a specially developed soundtrack that will “elevate the driving experience while preserving the unique sensations of piloting a high-performance electric vehicle.”
