Hyundai didn’t hold back when designing the new Elantra, and this rendering from SRK Designs shows that its angular and aggressive shape lends itself perfectly to a wagon body style.

There is no info whatsoever that suggests Hyundai will launch a wagon/estate variant of the latest Elantra, but previous models have been available in this body style, so it’s not impossible. If such a car looked as good as the one depicted in this rendering, we’d probably take it over the sedan.

SRK Designs turned the Elantra into a wagon by extending the roofline and forming a sharp spoiler stretching out from above the rear window. The car features additional side windows behind the C-pillars and while it has been imagined in flagship N guise, we’re sure lesser variants would look just as good.

As a reminder, the new Elantra N is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 276 hp and 289 lb-ft (392 Nm) of torque. This engine drives the front wheels through either an eight-speed wet dual-clutch transmission or a six-speed manual. It can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.3 seconds with the DCT, and the electronic limited-slip differential promises to give it handling credentials that match those of the acclaimed i30 N hatchback.

Further adding to the performance credentials of the Elantra N are 14.1-inch (360 mm) brake rotors with Hyundai’s own high-friction material pads. The sedan is also equipped with an N Sound Equalizer that pumps sound into the cabin to mimic the soundtrack of the car’s TCR racing counterpart.
