Just a few days after Genesis officially previewed the all-electric GV60, a prototype has been spied on public roads in Europe as well as in a parking lot in its home country of South Korea.
The GV60 first showcased by Genesis was clad in a bright shade of yellow reminiscent of a tennis ball. Obviously, it wasn’t to everyone’s taste. By comparison, the GV60 featured here is finished in a more simple and serious shade of black and looks far less radical, although that’s no bad thing as it still looks very fitting of the Genesis badge.
The front-end of the electric crossover featured similar Quad Lamp headlights to other Genesis models, although they have been re-shaped to look slightly sportier.

Elsewhere, the GV60 has been equipped with a clam shell-style hood and features digital wing mirrors. There are also a set of striking wheels and a rather radical C-pillar that really makes the EV stand out. Located at the rear are quad taillights and a pronounced lip spoiler stretching out from the rear window.
It’s not yet clear what others colors Genesis will offer for the GV60 other than black and yellow like the show car but we do expect some other bright finishes for those that really want to make a statement as well as some more subtle shades for those that would rather blend in.
Like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, the Genesis GV60 is underpinned by the E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) and will probably be offered with very similar powertrains to its slightly less luxurious siblings. That should include single and dual motor configurations as well as options for 58 kWh and 77.4 kWh battery packs.
Genesis says that the new GV60 will arrive in U.S. dealerships sometime next year with further details to be announced within the coming months.
