The Cybertruck will be Tesla’s most off-road focused model when it hits the market, but before that happens, one YouTube channel decided to turn a wrecked Model 3 into an off-roader of its own.

This Model 3 project came to life thanks to Grind Hard Plumbing Co. and Rich Rebuilds and the car started out life as a dual-motor Model 3 Long Range model that had been totaled in an accident.

Transforming the Model 3 into an off-roader took a lot of work with some significant alterations made to the front end. For example, the radiators were shifted from behind the front bumper to under the hood, providing the YouTubers with the room to fit a steel bar across the front and a 12,000 lbs winch.

Elsewhere, comprehensive work was done to the car’s suspension to jack up the ride height and allow the team to slot on a set of new wheels wrapped in off-road rubber. Various other upgrades were made, including the removal of the standard headlights that were replaced with simple LED lights. The top layer of the hood was also cut off to give the car a bit of a Max Max feel.

While this Model 3 probably won’t be going along the kind of off-road trails that would push a Ford Bronco or a Jeep Wrangler to their limits, it does appear to work quite well across grass and through mud, thanks in no small part to the electric motors and their abilities to shuffle power and torque to the wheels depending on the conditions.
