Alfa Romeo announced today that it will offer a range of updates for the 2022 model year Giulia sedan and Stelvio, including the addition of the “Veloce” trim level, which replaces the Ti Sport trim, for both the Giulia and the Stelvio.

The automaker calls the Veloce option a “performance gateway,” which complements the luxury-focused Ti trim. That means that both vehicles are now offered in Sprint, Ti, Veloce, and Quadrifoglio forms.

Both will benefit from new standard advanced driver aid technologies, like blind-spot assistance, active cruise control, lane departure warnings, automatic high-beams (25W bi-xenon in the case of the Giulia), and front and rear parking sensors.

More Standard Features Across The Range

The 2022 Giulia and Stelvio are offered with an available highway assist system, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, lane keep assist, active blind-spot assist, driver attention alert, intelligent speed assist, and standard full-speed forward-collision warnings.

Along with those, Alfa Romeo is also offering new standard convenience features like front and rear heated seats, navigation, a wireless charging pad for your smartphone, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Giulia, meanwhile, also gets a standard air quality system and the Ti and Veloce trims come with a trunk-mounted cargo net and grocery bag hooks.

Dark Trim Package

A new Dark appearance package will give the vehicles a bit more of a sinister appearance. For the Stelvio, that means a dark “Scudetto” grille, DLO, exhaust tips, skin plate, and roof rails. The Ti trim also gets a standard Vesuvio Gray body kit.

For the Giulia, the Dark appearance package adds a dark grille and DLO. It also gets a Sport front fascia, while the Veloce gets an exclusive finned rear diffusor.

Inside, the car gets standard aluminum column-mounted paddle shifters on the Sprint and Veloce trim. All models get a dark headliner, and aluminum sport pedals and footrests, which are new to the Sprint, Ti, and Veloce trims for 2022. The sport pedals and footrest are now standard on the Ti trim for the Stelvio, which also gets aluminum paddle shifters with Sprint and Veloce.

Still standard is the 8.8-inch infotainment screen and a 7-inch instrument cluster insert. All vehicles also come standard with leather seating, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, keyless entry, LED DRLs, the DNA Drive Mode selector, and more.

No Differences Under The Hood

Engines are hangovers from previous years. A 2.0-liter all-aluminum turbocharged inline-four delivers 280 hp (284 PS/208 kW) and 306 lb-ft (414 Nm) of torque. It can get the Giulia to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 5.1 seconds, while the Stelvio gets there in 5.4 seconds.

A Ferrari-derived V6 comes with the Quadrifoglio trim. It delivers 505 hp (512 PS/376 kW) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. That gets the Giulia to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.8 seconds and the Stelvio there in 3.6 seconds thanks to its AWD system.

Alfa Romeo says the 2022 Giulia and Stelvio will be available in 10 colors: Alfa White, Alfa Rosso, Anodized Blue Metallic, Misano Blue Metallic, Moonlight Grey, Ocra GT Tri-Coat, Rosso Etna Metallic, Verde Montreal Tri-Coat, Vesuvio Gray Metallic, and Vulcano Black Metallic. Inside, it’s offered in Black, Saddle Brown, and Red.
