Ford has dipped into its archives for a new Ranger appearance package that proves you don’t need to shell out for a Raptor to turn heads in your truck.
The Ranger Splash appearance package references the equally eye-catching 1990s truck of the same name and comes in two different forms.
Available all year and priced at $1495, the regular Splash package includes orange and black body side graphics and special matte black 18-inch, 12-spoke wheels. There’s orange detailing on the grille nostrils and contrasting gloss black on the grille itself, plus the bumpers, mirror caps, wheel lip mouldings and fender vents.

All that gloss black suggests this is truck for cruising, not racing through desert roads, but if you need more off-road ability you can combine the Splash package with the FX2 or FX4 packages.
Inside, you get new seats trimmed with orange stitching and featuring carbon grain stripes, plus leather upholstery in the plush Lariat version. There’s more orange stitching on the steering wheel, gear shift gaiter, and parking brake cover.
And for Ranger buyers who want something a little more exclusive, Ford will be dropping a series of one-time color Splash Limited Editions alongside the regular Splash throughout the year. Limited to a few hundred units each, they each come with different interior and exterior colors. First up is the Snow Edition.
We think you’ll definitely turn heads in the Splash, but maybe not as many as Ford’s “Very Gay Raptor” that’s heading for Cologne’s Pride festival.
