2022 Genesis G80 Range Priced From $48,000, Adds New Sport Variant

Genesis has announced that the 2022 G80 will start at $48,000 in the United States and added the new Sport variant to its local range.

Kicking off the Genesis G80 family is the entry-level 2.5T RWD variant. As the name suggests, this model comes standard with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 300 hp and 311 lb-ft (421 Nm) that’s coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

Among its key features is Highway Driving Assist II, Lane Keeping Assist with Road Edge Detection, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, Lane Following Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist with Rear Cross-traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, and Smart Cruise Control.

One step up in the range brings customers to the 2022 G80 2.5T AWD, starting from $51,150. This model has all the same features as the base model but adds all-wheel drive, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel. G80 models equipped with the 2.5-liter engine and rear-wheel drive can also be optioned with the $4,600 Advanced Package and $4,300 Prestige Package while the AWD variant gets a $3,700 Prestige Package of its own.

Twin-Turbo 3.5-liter V6 Cranks Out 375-HP

Customers looking for some extra power can order the new G80 with the flagship 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 rated at 375 hp and 391 lb-ft (530 Nm). The 3.5 range starts with the G80 3.5T AWD Sport, starting at $63,450. It has all the same standard equipment as the 2.5T AWD Standard but adds a Sport Appearance package, upgraded front brakes, electronically controlled suspension, a panoramic roof, aluminum trim, leather seats, ventilated seats, a Surround View Monitor, and a 21-speaker Lexicon premium audio system, plus some other features.

While the G80 3.5T AWD Sport is the sole 3.5-liter model on offer, it can be optioned with a Prestige package with all-season tires ($6,300) and a Premium package with summer tires ($6,800). I

ncluded with the Prestige package are 20-inch sport alloy wheels, Nappa leather seats, microfiber suede headliner and pillars, Remote Smart Parking Assist, Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist, Heads-Up Display, a 12.3-inch 3D digital instrument cluster, Forward Attention Warning, a Sport driving mode, rear wheel steering and carbon fiber trim.
