Just a day after the 2022 Honda Passport was unveiled in rugged TrailSport guise, the Japanese automaker has unveiled a Passport prototype equipped with a host of off-road accessories.
Honda dubs its latest creation the Passport TrailSport Rugged Roads Project vehicle and will showcase it at the Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona this weekend. The show car hosts a number of upgrades to make it even more off-road capable than the standard model.

Key upgrades made include a Jsport suspension lift kit that increases the ride height by 1.5-inches at the front and three-quarters of an inch at the rear. Honda’s Rugged Roads project also sports Firestone Destination A/T2 all-terrain tires to improve off-road traction.
Elsewhere, Honda has equipped the Passport TrailSport Rugged Roads Project with orange recovery points, thick stainless steel skid plates to protect the oil pan and fuel tank, and a lower door brush garnish. As you would expect, it also features a plethora of Honda Genuine Accessories, including roof crossbars, fender flares, black 18-inch wheels, black lug nuts, black valve stem caps, a trailer hitch, cargo tray, and cargo side panel protectors. It also features a Sparrow XL rooftop tent front Roofnest.
Honda will showcase a second model at this weekend’s Overland Expo West in the form of the 2022 Ridgeline HPD Trail Tour Project Vehicle. It is also fully equipped for overlanding and has a Jsport suspension lift, custom spare tire carrier, traction boards, Thule rooftop tent, crossbars, overcast awning, raised railing mounts, hydration packs, a Thule AllTrail X hiking pack, shackles, and recovery points.
