Cadillac’s electric revolution begins this weekend as the company will begin accepting reservations for the 2023 Lyriq Debut Edition.
Reservations open on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET and the company is advising fans to act fast as “demand is expected to be high.”
To build up excitement, Cadillac is heavily promoting the model in the leadup to the reservation process. In particular, the company has released a new “Flip the Script” spot which features the electric crossover as well as actor Regina King.

Furthermore, Cadillac will become one of the first brands to use the new YouTube livestream masthead. The company will be taking over the prime real estate on September 18th to host a two-hour livestream featuring iJustine as well as Unboxed Therapy’s Lewis Hilsenteger.
If that isn’t enough Lyriq for you, the automaker will be hosting a 24 hour event on Cadillac Live which will enable customers to check out the EV. The model will also be featured in a “special segment” with Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt, during college football coverage on Saturday.
As for the crossover itself, the 2023 Lyriq starts at $58,795 and will be offered in Satin Steel Metallic or Stellar Black Metallic. Buyers will also find LED lighting units, digital key technology and 20-inch alloy wheels. Other highlights include a massive 33-inch display, a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system, and the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system which allows for hands-free operation on more than 200,000 miles (320,000 km) of compatible roadway in the United States and Canada.
The Lyriq is based on GM’s new Ultium platform and features an electric motor that produces an estimated 340 hp (255 kW / 345 PS) and 325 lb-ft (440 Nm) of torque. It’s powered by a 100 kWh battery pack, which is slated to give the rear-wheel drive crossover a range in excess of 300 miles (483 km).
When it comes time to charge, a standard 120 volt outlet can deliver approximately 3.5 miles (5.6 km) of range for every hour of charging. That increases to 52 miles (84 km) per hour with a professionally installed 240V 19.2 kW AC / 100A dedicated charging station.
Owners can also take advantage of the Lyriq’s 190 kW DC fast charging capability, which can provide approximately 76 miles (122 km) of range in as little as 10 minutes. After 30 minutes, drivers can expect up to 195 miles (314 km) of range.
We’ll learn more about the Lyriq Debut Edition this weekend but, in the meantime, we’ll remind you deliveries are slated to begin in the first half of 2022.
