Classic SUVs have seen a surge in interest and they don’t get much nicer than this 1987 GMC S-15 Jimmy.
Smaller and more affordable than the full-size Jimmy, the model was a badge engineered version of the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer and helped to take SUVs mainstream.
This particular Jimmy is listed on eBay and is in remarkable condition as it has only been driven 12,826 miles (20,641 km) in the past 34 years. That’s an average of less than 378 miles (608 km) annually.

There’s no word on why the vehicle was rarely driven, but the Jimmy features a flawless two-tone exterior with chrome bumpers and 15-inch wheels that are still wrapped in their original Firestone tires. The two-door also sports roof rails, a drop-down tailgate and a swing-out tire carrier.
Moving into the cabin, there are cloth and vinyl seats which look brand new. Other highlights include wonderfully weird gauges, power windows / locks, and an audio system with a cassette player. The zippered storage bags, on the rear wheel wells, are also something you don’t see every day.
The listing is light on specifics, but power is provided by a 2.8-liter V6 engine that reportedly produces 110 hp (82 kW / 112 PS). It’s connected to an automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system.
The Jimmy has a buy it now price of $23,500 (£16,992 / €19,903), which is only $4,400 less than a new GMC Terrain. That seems a little steep, but the seller says the model “runs, drives, looks and smells like new.” That’s not hard to believe as the vehicle appears to be in excellent condition, aside from a few minor imperfections.
