The Targa is the most unique body style offered for the Porsche 911 and Italian coachbuilder Ares Design has just completed work on a new project based on a 992 Targa.
On first impressions, this 911 Targa may not look very different than a standard model. However, Ares has fitted a bespoke carbon fiber body kit that increases the car’s width by 8 cm (3.1 inches) at the front and 4 cm (1.5 inches) at the rear, giving it a more aggressive stance on the road.
One key giveaway of the new bodykit are the silver vents now fitted to the front wheel arches. Ares has also applied some silver trim to the front bumper and side skirts, perfectly matching the silver wing mirrors, silver Targa roof, and silver wheels.

The company has also worked on cabin that has been clad in new tan-colored upholstery that includes Ares Design logos embroidered into the headrests. This plush new leather continues across the seats, dashboard, door panels, and steering wheel, which also features the Ares Design badge.
Some changes have also been made to the car’s 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine so it now delivers an extra 60 hp, thanks in part to the fitment of a sports exhaust system.
This is the second time that Ares Design has worked on the Porsche 911 Targa after unveiling its one-off 911 GT3 Targa back in 2018, a car that we actually tested in Italy. Despite what its name suggested, it wasn’t a GT3 that had its roof cut off but rather a 911 Targa 4 GTS fitted with 991.2 GT3 and GT3 RS bodywork.
