The Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is the most expensive new car ever produced but with a price tag of $28 million, is definitely is out of reach for anyone but the wealthiest out there. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop YouTuber King of Crafts from using the Boat Tail as inspiration for his latest creation.
The YouTuber spent 15 days building his own Boat Tail out of steel and cardboard. It may not have quite the same craftsmanship as the real car, but it is definitely much more complex and well-made than what we could do.

To create the Rolls-Royce replica, Kind of Crafts started out by creating a steel chassis for the car. Power is provided by a small scooter/motorcycle engine that has been mid-mounted and the replica even features functional steering. With the chassis finished, work could begin on the car’s interior and exterior, made exclusively from cardboard.
Cardboard certainly isn’t the strongest material out there but it is easy to work with and when combined with hot glue, can be molded into various different shapes for key components like the wheel liners and dashboard. Sure, it might not have the hand-shaped aluminum panels that the real Rolls-Royce Boat Tail has, but this is just a cheap kind-of-replica anyway.
Once all of the cardboard panels were complete, King of Crafts used reflective sticky tape to mimic the chrome accents of the Boat Tail. He even went to the trouble of installing functional headlights.
