Tesla chief executive Elon Musk has acknowledged it probably doesn’t need to make the beta testers of its ‘Full-Self Driving’ system sign a nondisclosure agreement (NDA).

Earlier in the week, a report revealed that those with early access to the Full-Self Driving Beta program are required to sign an NDA that prohibits owners from speaking to the media and also encourages them to defend the technology from critics.

While speaking during the recent 2021 Code Conference, Elon Musk said that lots of beta testers seem to be ignoring the NDA and sharing videos of the system on social media.

“There’s a lot of videos shared,” he said, reports Yahoo. “I don’t know why there’s an NDA. We probably don’t need it. People don’t seem to listen to me [and] just ignore it anyway.”

Evidently, Musk doesn’t realize he has a legion of fans that interpret every word he says as gospel.

In the NDA, beta testers are told they should “share on social media responsibly and selectively … consider sharing fewer videos, and only the ones that you think are interesting or worthy of being shared.”

“Do remember that there are a lot of people that want Tesla to fail; Don’t let them mischaracterize your feedback and media posts,” the NDA adds.

Most individuals who have access to Tesla’s beta program are investors in the automaker, fan club presidents, or YouTubers that have shown fierce loyalty to the car manufacturer.
