The 2021 Ford F-150 offers ‘sleeper seats,’ so it shouldn’t be surprising to learn their latest concept wants you to take a power nap.
Called the Mindfulness concept, the model is based on the Kuga and is designed to showcase how vehicles can become a peaceful oasis.
The process starts before you even enter as a Purge function can be activated via the keyfob or a smartphone app. It provides a “burst of clean and fresh cabin air via the climate control” system to allow you to get into a “hygienic and harmonious space.” Speaking of the latter, an air filter helps to virtually eliminate allergens, bacteria and dust, while UV-C lights help to stop germs and viruses in their tracks.

Elsewhere, there’s sustainable interior trim with “natural colors and mindful design cues.” They’re joined by an immersive B&O audio system with headrest speakers, which pump out tailored playlists based on situations and locations. As an example, calming music during traffic jams.
The concept also has ambient lighting and an adaptive climate control system, which provides cool calming air after stressful driving situations. However, the crossover isn’t focused exclusively on driving as there’s a yoga guide and a power nap function. The latter is designed for use on long trips as drivers lay their seat flat and relax as “auditory beats” help them fall asleep.
The concept also monitors your well-being via a wearable device that watches your heart rate as well as other physiological measures. This helps to activate the concept’s various features including a special driver’s seat with four actuators that can stimulate your hind-side.
The concept is currently on display at the Munich Motor Show and Ford noted cars have become a haven for people, during the coronavirus pandemic, as the crisis has turned our homes into offices and classrooms.
