Just a week after Alpha Motor Corporation unveiled a live-size mock-up of its electric Wolf pickup truck, Top Gear’s Jack Rix recently had the opportunity to check it out in the flesh.

This Alpha Wolf is currently on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles and painted in a dark shade of non-metallic dark blue. It is rather imposing and while it has a traditional pickup truck shape (unlike the Tesla Cybertruck), it still has its own unique personality.

As the Wolf featured in this video is only a mock-up, it isn’t functional. It has also been showcased the Wolf in its flagship guise, hence why it is adorned with front and rear bull bars, a rear sports bar, and a plethora of LED spotlights, features that entry-level models probably won’t have.

Alpha will offer the Wolf in single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor four-wheel-drive configurations and offer it with an 85 kWh battery pack. Alpha says it will be good for 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 6.2 seconds but has yet to reveal how much horsepower and torque it will pack. It should also have a 275-mile (442 km) range and be able to tow up to 3 tonnes.

As this Wolf is just a display model, it doesn’t have an interior. However, renderings released by Alpha reveal that the interior will include a simple three-spoke steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, and a portrait-oriented infotainment display. It will also be clad in lovely leather surfaces with a host of sporty carbon fiber accents.

Alpha is currently accepting zero-dollar reservations for the Wolf and wants to begin production in 2023. The Wolf will also be available in Wolf+ and SuperWolf guises.
