Following the announcement of a new partnership with Audi, Ken Block has revealed that he will make his return to the Gymkhana series with a video set for release in 2022. Dubbed “Electrikhana,” Block will drive a new, “very top secret Audi e-tron.”
To kick off the new collaboration, though, Block took a flight to Ingolstadt to tour some of Audi’s facilities and drive one of the most powerful cars it currently makes, alongside the German brand’s most potent and famous model in the 1980s
Driving both the 1984 Audi Sport quattro and the 2021 RS e-tron GT at Audi’s test track in Neuberg, Block got to dip his toes into the worlds of electrification and the four-ring brand. Of the 590 hp (598 PS/440 kW) EV, of course, he only has positive things to say.

There is “a lot of torque, incredible braking, it definitely performs, you know,” says Block. “Like, this is a race car with a very nice interior.”
The 1984 Audi Sport quattro, though, was more of a dream of his, having idolized it as a child. He credits the car, and its motorsports derivatives, of having inspired him to get into rally driving in the first place.
The age of the vehicle and Block’s desire to be as gentle as possible takes away some of the fun. Although he appreciates the nostalgia of the classic car, he has to admit that the RS e-tron GT is more fun to drive.
This gets at why he decided to engage in this partnership with Audi and e-tron in the first place. “Why the switch to electrified vehicles? For me, it’s simple really: It’s new. It’s high level performance. It’s the future,” says Block in the description. “And new technology and forward thinking – the things Audi is great at – can be used to have even more fun with cars, and I am all about that.”
Keep an eye out for more from Ken and the Hoonigan crew as they prepare for “Electrikhana.”
