Kevin Hart is a big fan of classic American muscle cars, as we recently discovered in his new Motor Trend series. He has a seriously impressive collection of cars and AutotopiaLA recently had the opportunity to drive one of them.
This particular 1969 Chevrolet Camaro was first modified roughly 10 years ago before it was owned by Kevin Hart. Once Hart picked up the keys to it, he decided he wanted it to undergo a bit of a refresh. It was sent to Timeless Kustoms who proceeded to make it even more impressive.
Powering the car is a de-stroked LSX-based LS7 V8 with a displacement of 6.2-liters or 380 cubic-inch in the old lingo. It has forged components, a new LS7 head, and has been fitted with a pair of 68 mm turbochargers from Turbonetics. On the dyno, the car has pumped out 650 hp and 680 lb-ft (921 Nm) of torque at the rear wheels while running just 8 psi of boost.

Other key components of the car include a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, a 9-inch rear-end, front suspension from a C6 Corvette, and a set of wide wheels with huge 355 mm rear tires. It also has beefed-up Brembo brakes and is lovingly known as ‘Bad News.’
The interior of the Camaro is particularly gorgeous. It is clad in plush brown leather with black accents and has bespoke aluminum switchgear and a half-cage where the rear seats once were.
After getting an overview of the car’s exterior and its interior, the presenter heads out onto the street and puts it to the test. It sounds great, looks great, and we’re sure it puts a big smile on Hart’s face.
