Polestar hasn’t got any fancy premieres in the 2021 IAA Mobility Show where it will showcase the 2020 Precept concept. However, the EV brand confirmed that it will accelerate its market expansion with the goal of being present in 30 global markets by the end of 2022.
The electric brand’s latest announcement is following a similar statement from a few weeks ago when the company set the goal of being present in 18 global markets by the end of 2021, up from 9 markets at the beginning of the year.
This means that after expanding to 9 more markets during 2021, Polestar will add a further 12 markets through 2022. The company states that “high demand” together with its “digital-first business model” is allowing this rapid growth.
Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO, told during the presentation at the 202 IAA Mobility Show in Munich: “Our unique business model has allowed us to develop the manufacturing capacity we need to satisfy demand. Our digital-first approach means we can enter new markets faster. And, crucially, the service network vital to customer peace of mind is already in place.”

In addition to their digital presence, Polestar is adding more dealerships in existing markets with around 100 Polestar Spaces and Destinations up and running before the end of the year, and additional retail locations to follow in 2022.
