The Tesla Model 3 has played a pivotal role in pushing electric vehicles into the mainstream while simultaneously making them cool and desirable. For many of us, owning an electric vehicle will be the only option if we want to buy a new car in 10-15 years’ time. However, the used car market will be full of ICE options for decades to come, allowing rev-heads like ourselves to keep them alive well into the future.

I currently own a 2011 Renault Clio RS200 and while it is a decade old, it still offers all the creature comforts I could want in a sporty car, like Bluetooth and cruise control, and will continue to soldier on for many more years. It also cost me roughly one-sixth of what it would cost me to buy a brand new EV and for millions of other people around the world, used ICE vehicles will remain the cheapest option for many years to come.

Will I own an EV in the next 10 years? Unlikely. Will you? Let us know in the comments below.
