The Toyota Hilux has yet to get an extreme off-road variant to rival the Ford Ranger Raptor but aftermarket companies like Rad are already doing the job. The Thailand-based tuner is offering the Pathfinder bodykit and suspension upgrades for the flagship Toyota Hilux Revo, making it tougher and more capable.
Visually, this is the most rugged Hilux we have ever seen thanks to the aftermarket grille, the metal off-road bumpers, the bonnet scoop, the roof-mounted LEDs, the fender extensions, and the bulged tailgate. The pickup is also fitted with a new set of wheels shod in mud-terrain tires.

The Old Man Emu suspension is offering a 2-inch (51 mm), 4-inch (102 mm), or 6-inch (152 mm) lift while improving the off-road capabilities of the Hilux. For easier ingress/egress, the raised truck is fitted with automatically reclining side steps.
The company doesn’t mention any modifications to the engine. The most powerful powertrain of the Hilux range is the 2.8-liter turbodiesel producing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and 368 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque.

The pictured bodykit is priced at $6,060, while Rad is offering several different options for Hilux owners who want to spice up their pickup.
The current eighth-generation Hilux was unveiled in 2015 and received two facelifts in 2017 and in 2020. Among the tuners that have offered upgrades for the Japanese pickup are Arctic Trucks, Wald, Tonka, and Carlex Design. In terms of off-road-oriented specials, Australian buyers have access to the Rugged X variant and customers in New Zealand can get the Mako.
