The Huracan STO is the ultimate version of the V10 Lamborghini and one of the most capable track-focused supercars money can buy. Even though the first examples of the Italian exotic have just recently arrived in the US, a rental STO in Las Vegas was the first victim of reckless driving. The supercar, courtesy of Royalty Exotic Cars, was totaled after its driver lost control and landed on the curb.

The matte gray STO was purchased by the rental company 30 days ago as their most expensive offering. Unfortunately, the customer that rented it last Sunday wasn’t able to master the crazy acceleration of this rear-wheel-drive monster and crashed on the curb, a few meters away from a construction area. Luckily there were no other cars involved and no one was hurt in the accident, but the Lamborghini sustained heavy damage.

As we can see from the video, the rear suspension of the STO is completely destroyed. One of the rear wheels is badly stuck inside the wheel arch at a weird angle, and the other one is cracked. The splitter is also cracked, which means that the whole front end made of carbon fiber must be replaced. While we can’t see underneath the vehicle, it is obvious that the underbody damage will be severe.

The manager of the rental car company said that it is impossible for him to replace the STO due to the limited availability. He claims that he found an example selling for $620,000, which is quite a premium over the original price of $327,838 (excluding taxes). It’s unknown if the Italian supercar is repairable, but it’s likely that it will end up as a write-off.

The Huracan STO is fitted with a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 producing 631 hp (470 kW / 640 PS) and 565 Nm (417 lb-ft) of torque. Besides weighing 43 kg (95 lbs) less than the Huracan Performante, the STO also gets a redesigned body with sophisticated aero and a more aggressive setup.
