Consumer Reports has produced a list of cars that are best and most poorly suited to tall and short drivers. If you fall into either camp, you may want to read on.
To analyze whether a vehicle is good for a tall or short driver, or both, Consumer Reports tested vehicles for seat comfort, driving position, ingress and egress, and the view out. Its testers ranged from 5’1” through to 6’2”.
Starting with tall drivers, the 10 best cars consisted of the BMW 7-Series, Porsche Cayenne, BMW X7, Audi Q7, Honda Pilot, Genesis G90, Volvo XC90, BMW X5, Audi A8 and Land Rover Range Rover. As for the 10 worst cars for tall drivers, they included the Mazda MX-5 Miata (no surprise there), Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Supra, Porsche 918 Spyder, Jeep Gladiator, Chevrolet Bolt, Hyundai Veloster, Polestar 2, Jeep Wrangler, and Honda Insight.

If you’re a smaller driver, there are some vehicles that will suit you better than others. These include the Subaru Forester, BMW 7-Series, Lexus ES, Volvo XC90, Subaru Outback, BMW X5, Lexus RX L, Volkswagen Tiguan, Honda Odyssey, and BMW X3. Poor choices for shorter people include the Mazda MX-5, Jeep Wrangler, Chevrolet Camaro, Toyota Tacoma, Jeep Gladiator, Mitsubishi Mirage, Chevrolet Colorado / GMC Canyon, Jeep Renegade, Ford F-150, and Nissan Titan.
Speaking with Fox News, Mike Quincy from Consumer Reports said many of the vehicles not well-suited to tall or short drivers lacked adequate seat adjustment. Additionally, many of the trucks were hard to enter, even when equipped with available sidesteps.
