You will always find some interesting cars listed up for sale through Craigslist, but this one might just take the cake as the most bizarre we have ever come across.
The listing refers to the car as a 2011 Mercedes-Benz AMG C8 GTR and takes inspiration from Mercedes’ C8, C9, and C11 race cars. No mention is made about what kind of chassis underpins the bizarre homemade creation but one thing we can say for sure is that with a $75,000 asking price, it certainly isn’t cheap.
According to the seller, the car is 6 to 8-inches wider than a normal vehicle, “which makes it very easy to handle around the terns.” What’s more, it has also been fitted with “Gold Wing” (that is, gullwing) doors and a “Full Tilt rear body,” which we presume refers to the clamshell rear-end.

Power is provided by a 350 cubic-inch Chevy V8 with an Edelbrock carburetor, chrome manifold covers, aluminum water pump, and polished high-flow intake manifold, all housed beneath an odd-looking ‘bubble’ on the car’s rear decklid.
The seller adds that the car has independent suspension at all four corners and also features a six-speed manual transmission, front and rear sway bars, and an aluminum oil pan.
The interior is just as bizarre as the exterior and includes a weird three-spoke steering wheel finished in fake carbon fiber. There is also a custom dashboard, also featuring (presumably fake) carbon fiber and brown leather. The seats also appear to be mounted directly to the floor.
Then there’s the $75,000 asking price. To put that into perspective, you could buy a brand new Porsche 718 Cayman S or Boxster S for less money. With that in mind, which would you rather have?
