Three extraordinarily rare HSV models are currently up for auction in Australia and each can be expected to sell for well over AU$500,000 (US$366,000).
Kicking off the list is a 1996 HSV VS GTSR. The car was introduced as the ultimate version of the VS-generation Holden Commodore and limited to just 85 units. Immediately making it stand out from all other VS Commodore variants was its unique shade of ‘Yellah’ Yellow, a fixed rear wing, a unique graphics package, and a stroked 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 pumping out 288 hp (215 kW) and 350 lb-ft (475 Nm) of torque.
Making this example particularly desirable is the fact that it is chassis #001 and has only been driven 86 km (53 miles). At the time of writing, bidding had hit AU$375,000 (~US$279,000) with over three weeks left in the Lloyds auction.

The second car being sold is a HSV GTSR W1 Maloo. Only four examples were ever built and earlier this year, one of them sold for AU$1.05 million at auction. This example is finished in the same shade of Yellah as the 1996 GTSR and has only been driven 19 km (11.8 miles) since it was built. It is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged LS9 V8, the same engine as the C6 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, and churns out 635 hp (474 kW) and 601 lb-ft (815 Nm) of torque. Power is sent through the rear wheels courtesy of a six-speed manual transmission.
Last but not least is a HSV GTSR W1 sedan that was capped at just 300 units. It is virtually identical to the W1 ute except for the fact that it is, well, a sedan. It too is painted in Yellah and has only been driven 16 km (9.9 miles) since new.
