Toyota just unveiled the RAV4 Adventure in Europe, featuring not only a more rugged appearance but also a series of small updates that will affect the rest of the RAV4 range for 2022. This is also the first time that the rugged variant of the popular SUV is available in Europe, expanding the Adventure range next to the Yaris Cross.
The 2022 RAV4 Adventure gets the same bumper design as the US-spec Adventure model, differentiating it from the rest of the EU-spec range thanks to the different grille, intakes, and silver skid plates front and rear. As a reminder, a similar design was used in the 2017 Toyota FT-AC Concept that previewed the fourth-generation RAV4.
New for the 2022 RAV4 in Europe are the redesigned LED headlight graphics together with LED fog lights. The Adventure also gets an Urban Khaki / Dynamic grey bi-tone paintwork reminiscent of the FJ40 Land Cruiser, wider wheel arches, and a set of matt grey 19-inch alloy wheels. For the regular hybrid and petrol variants, Toyota has designed a new set of 10-spoke allow wheels finished in bright silver (Mid grade) or gloss black (Style grade).

Inside, the new RAV4 Adventure features black synthetic leather upholstery with quilted seat surfaces and orange stitching, as well as a set of special scuff plates. Additionally, the whole RAV4 range will benefit from the addition of a standard power-adjustable front passenger seat, illuminated window control switches, and new USB-C ports for charging your devices.
As expected, there are no surprises under the bonnet of the 2022 RAV4 Adventure: there you’ll find Toyota’s fourth-generation hybrid electric technology and a standard AWD-i system. The powertrain combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors, for a system output of 219 hp (163 kW / 222 PS) and 221 Nm (163 lb-ft) of torque. Toyota announced a 1,650 kg braked towing capacity for the RAV4 Hybrid AWD-i.

The first deliveries of the new 2022 Toyota RAV4 Adventure and the rest of the refreshed RAV4 model range are expected for the first quarter of 2022 in Europe.
