The first-ever Formula 1 Grand Prix will be held in Saudi Arabia in early December and as the country gears up for the event, it recently set out to build the largest Lego Formula 1 car at the sprawling Red Sea Mall in Jeddah.
The promoter of the upcoming race, the Saudi Automobile & Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) recruited a handful of expert Lego builders and set them the task of building the largest replica Formula 1 car from Lego. The record was previously held by a Lego F1 car that Ferrari built in 2019 using no less than 350,000 bricks.

Guinness World Records was on-site to verify the achievement, confirming that more than 500,000 bricks were used in the construction of the model. The final brick was laid by the SAMF’s chairman, HRH Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, on September 23, Saudi Arabia’s national day.
“I am ecstatic to announce the completion of the world’s largest-ever LEGO brick build of a Formula 1 car – fully approved and certified by Guinness World Records!,” the prince said in a statement. “This exciting project was all about giving back to our community and reflecting the true meaning & values of progress, innovation & social responsibility that symbolize modern Saudi Arabia. Today I feel confident in declaring that it has done so and much, much more.”
The Saudi Arabia Grand Prix will be just the second night race on the calendar after the Singapore Grand Prix. It will take place on the Jeddah Street Circuit on the banks of the Red Sea and will serve as the second last race weekend of the season, kicking off on December 5.
