The Renault Clio V6 is one of the most remarkable hot hatches ever produced and a low-mileage example recently traded hands for £73,000 in the UK, the equivalent of $100,000, which is a new record for the series.
Renault Sport left no stone unturned in creating the ultimate hot hatch when the Phase 1 Clio was launched in 2001. The car was developed by Tom Walkinshaw Racing and even though it was based on the regular Clio Mk II of the day, it was equipped with a rear mid-mounted V6 and rear-wheel drive.

The example in question is a 2005 model meaning it is a Phase 2 generation and was sold on Collecting Cars. Like the original model, it too had a 3.0-liter naturally-aspirated V6 but was upgraded to deliver 252 hp and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque, making it the most powerful hot hatch at the time.
Only 1,309 examples of the Clio V6 Phase 2 were ever produced and this particular example is one of just 18 in the UK that’s painted in Renault Sport’s iconic Liquid Yellow. It has also been driven just 980 miles (1,577 km) since new.
Given the car’s exceptionally low mileage, it should come as no surprise that the interior is in excellent condition. The cabin is clad in a mixture of black leather and synthetic suede and includes sporty seats and a leather-trimmed steering wheel. There are no obvious signs of wear that can be seen.
Of course, spending $100,000 on a little French hot hatch may seem ridiculous but given the Clio V6’s unique place in automotive history, we think values are only going to increase further.
