Although it’s based on the same platform as the Rimac Nevera, the Pininfarina Battista takes things a step further as it’s designed to take the technical geekery of the Nevera and add Italian luxury to the mix.
The all-electric Battista prides itself on taking the Nevera‘s “outrageous surplus of power,” as Top Gear’s Jack Rix puts it, and simply folding it into the luxury experience.
It creates a holistic experience of extravagance in all the ways you’d expect and in subtle ways, too. Charging will be free forever, Rix reports, meaning that you can just show up to a participating charging station and plug in. No fuss, no muss.

It also has a bespoke interior, a wealth of carbon fiber, and endless customization options. Pininfarina claims that there are so many customization options that no two of the 150 Battistas being produced will be the same. Even the electric drivetrain is folded into the luxury experience.
“This car is ridiculously easy to drive,” says Rix. “If I were in something like, say, I don’t know, a Carrera GT or a McLaren F1, they would have many finely honed mechanical components that I’d need to be managing in start-stop traffic like this. But not this, it’s smooth, and comfortable, and quiet.”
On the track, meanwhile, it turns into a weapon. With 1,874 hp (1,397 kW / 1,900 PS) and 1,696 lb-ft (2,300 Nm) of torque, you’re constantly aware that you have a power station’s worth of electricity at your disposal, which makes it a little intimidating. It is, however, helped by very good driver aids that make it manageable despite its enormous power and weight. That weight does become a bit of a problem in the rain when the momentum can really be felt, but in the dry, the Battista is simply impressive.
Sounds pretty good, then. So good that it almost makes you wish you had $2.4 million lying around to get one.
