The second supercar from Gordon Murray Automotive could allegedly be dubbed the T.33.
While the McLaren F1-inspired T.50 hasn’t yet reached the hands of customers, Murray revealed in May that work had begun on a second supercar that will be cheaper and produced in larger numbers. At the time, he simply referred to the car as Project Two but just a week after his interview with Evo was published, it has been revealed that a trademark application was made for T.33.

The application was made with the United States Patent and Trademark Office by Gordon Murray Design and is “intended to cover the categories of vehicles: apparatus for locomotion by land, air or water; motor land vehicles, automobiles, and parts thereof, tyres, alloy, and composite wheels for motor vehicles; bicycles, motorcycles and vans.”
What makes this trademark application particularly interesting is that Murray is simply looking to renew the trademark as it originally applied to trademark T.33 way back in December 2011.
It is understood that Gordon Murray’s second supercar with share its basic powertrain with the T.50 that uses a Cosworth-developed 3.9-liter naturally aspirated V12 coupled to a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. In the T.50, this engine delivers 641 hp and revs to 12,100 rpm, although it wouldn’t be surprising if it is slightly detuned for use in the new car.
Unfortunately, we will have to wait quite a long time before this new model hits the streets, with Murray previously stating that manufacturing won’t start until production of the T.50 wraps up in the beginning of 2023.
