There has been a very noticeable spike in the demand for low-mileage stock Hondas from the past, allowing those people who kept their S2000s, Civics, Preludes, or CRXs in mint condition to take them out of storage and make some profit.
This is probably the case with a showroom condition 1990 Honda CRX 16i-16 which appeared on sale through Garagisti in Portugal, with the odometer showing an unbelievable 17 km (10.5 miles).
The model was bought new in August 1990 from a Honda dealership in Lisbon, Portugal. The owner drove it to his/her private garage, which must have been pretty close to the dealership, and left it sitting on four jack stands until recently.

While we don’t understand the reasoning behind this choice since this is basically a mass-produced sporty three-door hatchback, the result is a time capsule example of the sporty Honda. It could also be the lowest-mileage CRX in the world.
This CRX has been pretty much left untouched for 30 years, still fitted with the original tires, factory waxes, engine oil, and even the paper carpet protectors from the dealership. In fact, the only things that have been replaced according to the listing, are the battery and the brake fluid.
As you would expect from a car that has spent so much time indoors, the blade silver metallic bodywork and the black plastics look the same as the day it came out of the factory. The headlights/taillights are completely clear while the interior looks amazing with the virtually unused bucket-style seats and the cool rear bench.

Under the bonnet, there is a non-VTEC naturally aspirated 1.6-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine producing 122 hp (91 kW / 124 PS) – thus the bulge on one side of the bonnet. Power is sent to the front axle through a five-speed manual gearbox.
Judging from the fact that Civic Si models from 1999 and from 2003 are selling at prices close to a brand new example, this CRX could surprise us all with its asking price. Given the rarity of delivery-mileage cars from this era, we suspect that the new owner will keep this CRX as a garage queen, preserving it for future generations.
