The F-150 Lightning appears to be well-received as Ford has more than 150,000 reservations for it. Nevertheless, it seems that order banks for the all-electric pickup won’t open in a few days, as originally scheduled.
The report from the Lightning Owners Forum, which cites multiple dealership emails to customers posted on Facebook, says that the opening of order banks has been pushed back from October 26 to an unspecified date in December.

The emails all read the same thing: “Unfortunately, the Lightning order banks will not be opening next week. They will now be opening in December 2021. I will reach back out in December to scheduled appointments to order Lightnings at that time. The arrival of the Lightning has not been delayed and is still due to arrive mid-2022.”
The F-150 Lightning was on track to be the first accessible electric pickup truck to hit the market. Rivian’s R1T entered production in September, but its $69,000 starting price is not nearly as doable for the average person compared to the Lightning’s $39,974.

However, as noted in the email, while the ordering process will be delayed, deliveries will not. Nevertheless, assuming everything to be true, this shouldn’t be more than a minor inconvenience for those truly eager to get their hands on the F-150 Lightning.
