Gordon Murray Automotive continues to put the upcoming T.50 through its paces during a rigorous round of development and recently brought a prototype to the Goodwood Members’ Meeting event in the UK.
The experimental prototype driven by Dario Franchitti around the circuit appears to be fitted with all of its production body panels and a fully-equipped interior and this was the very first time for members of the public to see it in action.

The T.50 is powered by a 3.9-liter naturally aspirated V12 built by Cosworth and while lapping the Goodwood circuit, Franchitti was able to let that engine roar along many of the track’s straights. All naturally aspirated V12s sound good but this small capacity and high revving engine sounds particularly special and that’s just watching it on video. We can’t begin to imagine how good it sounds in person.
Unfortunately, the circuit was quite wet while Franchitti was driving the car so he wasn’t able to push it to its limits. Nevertheless, he still hustled it through the corners, putting on a great show for spectators. The commentators also reveal that Franchitti himself has ordered his own T.50.
Coupled to the Cosworth V12 is a six-speed manual transmission that drives the rear wheels. Making the T.50 even more remarkable is the fact that it weighs just 986 kg (2,173 lbs), as Gordon Murray has always been obsessed with keeping weight as low as possible.
