G-Class customers may already be familiar with Mercedes’ Manufaktur label, which allows them more opportunities to customize the appearance of their vehicle. Now, the label is being extended to more of Mercedes’ vehicles.

Available for the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, as well as the Mercedes-Benz CLS, S-Class, and the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, the brand plans to extend the label even further in the future.

The Manufaktur label, which replaces the Designo, offers customers a greater selection of exterior paint colors and interior trim, material, and color options so that they can customize their vehicle to their tastes.

From silky-matte finishes to high-gloss metallic paints, and the rich non-metallic paints in between, Mercedes is offering more paint colors to those who choose to go the Manufaktur route. That also means historical colors, like Manufaktur Graphite Grey, in which the original 300 SL was offered.

Colors like Graphite Metallic and Olive Metallic, meanwhile, were popular choices in the ’80s, while China Blue was all the rage for the E-Class and the S-Class of the ’90s. All are now available again through this personalization service. For those more interested in modern design trends than rad retro looks, Cashmere White Magno, Kalahari Gold Magno, and Night Black Magno are all matte finishes that exude modernity.

Inside, there are even more options. Customers can choose the material of their trim, piano lacquer or wood, and may even become overwhelmed by the leather options. The Deep White/Black Exclusive Nappa leather interior returns to the S-Class lineup thanks to the Manufaktur label, as does the Pastel Yellow/Black interior combination that was available to the model until 2012.

There are also elegant new leather color combinations, like Nut Brown/Black, Truffle Brown/Black, or Yacht Blue/Black. A hand-crafted, two-tone leather steering wheel is also available to match the interior that you’ve designed. A “Manufaktur” badge is added to the center console of the S-Class, as well as in chrome lettering on the rear window shelf.

If you need a little more theatre, meanwhile, the Manufaktur surround lighting may provide it. It uses LCD technology to project an animated Mercedes-Benz or Mercedes-Maybach pattern to illuminate the front and rear entry areas.

So far only available on the handful of vehicles mentioned above, Mercedes will roll the service out to more vehicles, with a focus on the AMG and EQ subbrands. These will add new paint and equipment package options.
