This is a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 RSR but it is unlike any other in existence and could sell for over $1 million in an online auction.
This 911 initially competed in the 1974 International Race of Champions series (IROC) where it was raced by two-time Indy winner and two-time F1 champion Emerson Fittipaldi. Soon after, the car was sold to Roger Penske before he sold it to privateer racers John Tunstall and Charlie Kemp.

Between 1974 and 1978, the pair raced the car at events its Lime Rock Park, Talladega, Road Atlanta, Mid-Ohio, Road America, and Mid-America. It also competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring where it finished 23rd. The unique 911 Carrera 3.0 RSR was then sold to drug lord Pablo Escobar who had it adorned with 935 bodywork and raced it at various events in Colombia.
The Collecting Cars listing confirms that the car was returned to the United States after Escobar’s death where it was converted back to its original bodywork with the same livery that it had when Fittipaldi drove it. As such, it is bathed in an intriguing color dubbed Sahara Beige and also features a large rear spoiler, matte black headlamp covers, quick-release bonnet catches, and an external fire extinguisher switch.
The car underwent a complete restoration between 2007 and 2010 and has since gone on to win various concours awards.
If this 911 seems familiar, that’s because we first wrote about it back in March when it was listed up for sale through a dealership with a $2.2 million asking price.
