Renault unveiled a new special edition for the Twingo called the Urban Night which is available in France for both the ICE-powered SCe 65 and the fully electric E-Tech variants.
Limited availability, more equipment, and subtle visual tweaks are not enough to justify the hefty €17,300 ($19,982) starting price of the petrol variant, with €26,650 ($30,781) needed for the electric version.
The Twingo Urban Night is the flagship trim level of the facelifted third-generation model which will be the last of its kind as the French company has confirmed that the Twingo won’t get a new generation.

Visually, the Urban Night brings multispoke 16-inch alloy wheels finished in glossy black, white accents on the grille, “Urban Night X” lettering on the mirror caps plus unique graphics. These can be found just on the C-pillars on the standard “light version”, but if you opt for the Premium Pack you get the larger decals on the roof and the doors. Depending on the exterior color, the mirrors and the graphics are painted in contrasting white or black.
The special edition is available in four exterior colors, Cristal White, Quartz White, Moon Grey, and Diamond Black, and also gets dark-tinted rear windows.
Inside there are white “Urban Night X” markings on the dashboard and on the seats contrasting with the black upholstery, different door sills, and glossy black elements. Standard equipment includes the Easy Link 7″ infotainment touchscreen with navigation and Android Auto / Apple CarPlay connectivity, a leather steering wheel, automatic air-conditioning, cruise control, lane departure warning, rear parking sensors, reversing camera, rain sensor, and automatic lights.
Optional features include the canvas sunroof which costs €1,100 ($1,270), heated front seats for €250 ($289), and the Urban Night Premium Striping Pack adding €300 ($346).
The Twingo SCe 65 Urban Night is powered by a rear-mounted naturally aspirated 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine producing 64 hp (48 kW / 65 PS) which sends the power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox and is priced from €17,300 ($19,982). For comparison, the base model with the same engine starts from €13,750 ($15,873) in France. The all-electric Twingo E-Tech Urban Night starts from €26,650 ($30,781), although at 81 hp (60 kW / 82 PS), it’s more powerful.
