The C8 Corvette Z06 finally arrives tomorrow, and after the countless spy shots, audio previews, and teaser images, we’ve been given one last listen to the car’s exotic sound before the official reveal.
The first of two videos shows the new Z06 in full camouflage strapped to a dyno, where it does a pull all the way up to its 8,600 rpm redline. Thanks to its flat-plane crank V8, the sports car sounds more like a Ferrari than a Chevy, emitting a much higher, smoother tone from its four tailpipes. And speaking of those tailpipes, which have been moved back to the center for the Z06, they can even be seen spitting flames at the end of the pull.

The second video sees the Corvette parked out in the open, where we get to hear it rev out a few times. This is again presumably all the way up to redline, and it showcases both a lack of a soft limiter and that same exotic exhaust note from before. Contrary to the one in the other video, though, this Z06 is shown with the more aggressive high wing on its decklid. Powering the car is expected to be a 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8 making as much as much as 617 hp (626 PS / 460 kW) and 480 lb-ft (651 Nm) of torque, all of which will be sent to the rear wheels.

Nevertheless, the 2023 Corvette Z06 makes its debut in full tomorrow at 12 PM EST (you can watch it here), and it looks to radically redefine what a Corvette can be even more so than the switch to mid-engine already did.
