Hyundai isn’t resting on its laurels with the Palisade and is already developing a mid-life facelift for the SUV. A heavily camouflaged prototype was recently spied testing in South Korea, providing us with a glimpse of what to expect from the updated model.
This particular prototype that was caught by forum users over at Korea’s Autospy may be adorned with black body cladding but we can immediately see that the front grille is dramatically different than the outgoing model and mimics the design and shape of the grille found on the new Tucson and Santa Cruz pickup truck.
It is unclear if parts of this grille will double as LED daytime running lights like other Hyundai models but it will certainly add a unique new look to the SUV.

These spy shots also confirm that the Palisade will have a split headlight design like the current model but the lower portion of the lights, where the headlamps are actually located, has been redesigned. More specifically, the vertical running lights are no longer on the inside of the headlamps and are now positioned on the outside of the headlamps, towards the edges of the bumper. It also seems that the running lights of the upper section of the headlights will no longer connect to the lower section.
Other styling changes are harder to notice on this prototype but we do expect the rear fascia to be altered just as significantly as the front, meaning new taillights are likely.
Hyundai will make further changes to the interior of the Palisade. For example, its infotainment display may grow to match the 12-inch screen of the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Korean media has also speculated that it could feature the same Crystal Sphere gear selector as the Genesis GV60.
