An intriguing 2023 Nissan Z has been snapped on a transport truck out in the open and looks particularly striking.

The official launch images released by Nissan of its new sports car showcased it in a gorgeous shade of blue and a bright shade of yellow. This particular Z appears to be finished in Gun Metallic, a shade already offered for other Nissan models and one that suits the lines of the car perfectly.

This Nissan Z also stands out because it doesn’t have the same gloss black roof that we have seen on other examples. We think the color-matched roof and pillars suit the Z very well and help make it look like a small version of the R35 GT-R. The dark-colored wheels and red brake calipers complete the look.

Nissan Z’s finished in Gun Metallic, Black Diamond Metallic, and Rosewood Metallic are the only ones to feature color-matched roofs. Examples finished in Brilliant Silver, Boulder Gray, Seiran Blue, Ikazuchi Yellow, Passion Red TriCoat, and Everest White Pearl TriCoat are all contrasted by a Super Black roof.

As you probably already know, the Nissan Z borrows its engine from Infiniti, rocking a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with 400 hp and 350 lb-ft (475 Nm). This engine comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission with a carbon fiber composite driveshaft. Customers can also opt for a 9-speed automatic transmission. Drive is sent exclusively to the rear wheels.

Pricing details for the 2023 Nissan Z haven’t been announced but it is expected to start at around $40,000 in the U.S
