According to most of those that have driven it, including our own Chris Chilton, the new Lamborghini Huracan STO is the best variant of the V10-powered supercar by far. It doesn’t just look the part but it is a joy to drive and as this video proves, it is extremely quick.
The guys over at AutoTopNL recently had the opportunity to put the Huracan STO through its paces both on the Autobahn and along some rural roads near the unrestricted areas of the motorway. The STO isn’t the most powerful version of the supercar but don’t let that fool you, it is an absolute animal.

Powering the car is Lamborghini’s famed 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V10 churning out 631 hp and 417 lb-ft (565 Nm) of torque, 26 lb-ft (35 Nm) less than the old Huracan Performante. Unlike the Performante, however, the STO is rear-wheel drive and features even more carbon fiber bodywork, allowing Lamborghini to shed 95 lbs (43 kg) of unnecessary weight.
While testing out the supercar on the Autobahn, the publication managed to set a best 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time of 3.19 seconds while accelerating through to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.1 seconds, recording a quarter-mile time of 10.75 seconds, hitting 250 km/h (155 mph) in 14.94 seconds, and ultimately pushing the car through to a top speed of 323 km/h (200 mph), as indicated by the speedometer.
Then there is the sound. High-revving, naturally-aspirated engines are being increasingly rare in the age of downsizing, forced induction, and electrification and the STO’s 5.2-liter V10 will be forever remembered as one of the finest combustion engines ever produced.
